Day 1, Arrival

After picking you up from the airport we take you to your first accommodation in northern outskirts of Windhoek, where we will enjoy a scrumptious breakfast. Afterwards you take over your bikes and are able to take a first short tour on gravel.  Of course we also want to get to know you better, want to learn more about your wishes and expectations and will have a few words on the routing and “rules” regarding the tour. In the evening we will either drive into town for dinner or, depending on the group’s decision, have ourselves spoiled in the restaurant at your accommodation.

Day 2, Windhoek - Camp Gecko   200 km

The tarred road ends a few kilometres outside Windhoek and we continue our south-western journey on graded gravel roads. Through the Khomas-Hochland we drive on this plateau towards its western escarpment, which at the same time forms the border to the foothills of the Namib Desert to east. The steep hairpins of the Spreetshoogte Pass lead us several hundred metres down. Our destination today is Camp Gecko. Here the Enduro Namibia upfront-team has already put up our camp.

Day 3, Camp Gecko - Sossusvlei - Camp Gecko   240 km

We start our bikes early today to be in time at the entrance to Sossusvlei. Since motorbikes are not allowed in the National Park we proceed with a 4x4 vehicle and drive into Sossusvlei to experience some of the highest dunes in the world up close. On our way back to Camp Gecko we visit Sesriem Canyon who was carved into the desert by rainwater. Back at Camp Gecko a shower and a decent dinner under the stars awaits us.

Day 4, Camp Gecko - Swakopmund   285 km

The destination today is Swakopmund. We ride through the Namib Naukluft Park via the Kuiseb Canyon to Walfish Bay. Even when we as biker are not allowed to leave the road, chances are good to see probably different kinds of antelope, Ostriches and other game. From there either on the coastal road or behind the first dune belt to Swakopmund. Our accomodation for the next two nights will be a good hotel in town.

Day 5, Swakopmund und Umgebung

This day belongs to Swakopmund and its surroundings. Optional activities are: A dolphin cruise in Walvis Bay, Quad biking or sand boarding in the dunes or tandem skydiving. One of the Enduro treats is an excursion on bike to the Moon Landscape, an impressive scenery, formed in the course of time by the Swakop River. The first part of the trip we travel in the dry riverbed of the Swakop. We will also get to see Namibia’s famous “primordial plant” the Welwitschia mirabilis. Anyone preferring to get to know Swakopmund better is of course welcome to spend the afternoon in town.

Day 6, Swakopmund - White Lady Camp, Brandberg   228 km

From Swakopmund we ride via Henties Bay on sea salt roads until we turn inland again and ride northwards on gravel to the former mine town of Uis. From there we are heading to the White Lady Camp on the east side of the Brandberg, situated on the banks of the dry bed of the Ugab River. All those who want are invited to visit the famous rock paintings at the Brandberg. Sometimes elephants are crossing the camp on search for water.

Day 7, White Lady Camp, Brandberg - Aba Huab Camp   138 km

From the Brandberg we ride to Twyfelfontein. Twyfelfontein's rock paintings are testimony to the early settlements in this area and belongs to the world heritage sites. The "Burnt Mountain" and the organ pipes nearby are geological attractions we might like to have a closer look at. In the meantime our tents will be pitched at the Aba Huab Camp and the crew awaits our arrival.

Day 8, Aba Huab - Kamanjab   230 km

Via the stunning Grootberg Pass we ride to Kamanjab. The Kamanjab Rest Camp will be our accomodation for the night.

Day 9, Kamanjab - Etosha National Park   150 km

From Kamanjab we ride on smaller but well maintained gravel roads to our base camp, from where we will visit the Etosha National Park. In the afternoon we will take part in a game drive through the park and since motorbikes are not allowed in the park, we swap our bikes with a 4x4 vehicle.

Day 10, Etosha National Park - Waterberg   228 km

We will have a further game drive in  Etosha National Park, early in the morning. After that we drive on tar via Outjo and Otjiwarongo to our next destination, the Waterberg. We will be guest to the beautifully arranged campsite of the Waterberg Wilderness Lodge. A sundowner on the plateau- edge of this huge flat-top mountain surely qualifies for one of the highlights of this tour.

Day 11, Waterberg - Okonjima   115 km

A relatively short stretch of tar leads us today to our next destination. Having arrived at Okonjima Lodge we will have the opportunity to be very close to the big cats of Namibia. On a guided "Cheetah Tracking Trail" by foot we can observe Cheetahs and Leopards in their natural habitat.

Day 12, Okonjima - Windhoek   215 km

An interesting "Buschman-Trail" gives us some insight in the life of the San-tribe, which were the first inhabitants of Namibia and the surrounding countries. After this excursion into several century old traditions we will start our modern bikes again and ride on good tar back to the starting point of our journey.

Day 13, Windhoek

Time to relax after the tour, to do some sightseeing in Windhoek and to buy some souvenirs. In the evening we drive into town to have ourselves spoilt with a farewell dinner at a restaurant.
